You’re so right as usual Kathi.

Young minds… looking beyond western borders one might get an insight into how impoverished children borne of decades of poverty cycles, turn so readily to extremism and self annihilation.

Where I’m from, poor families perforce must send shockingly young male offspring to madrassahs. They were once centers of holistic learning. It’s a babysitting service now while parents work menial jobs. At least kids are fed and learn by rote the holy book. And of course they hear how drones decimate Muslim lives. And I might add that they are sexually exploited and suffer severe beatings. Beautiful tender souls. Plenty of videos showing mullahs literally smashing kids against walls kicking and dragging them. All they learn is violence and hate. Millions of beautiful children enduring this ugly reality.

Today any beggar on the street can grow a beard, don a green turban, mumble on prayer beads and instantly get transformed into a power figure to be feared.

One dare not challenge the dark force of perverted religion - thanks to British colonizers we were introduced to blasphemy laws! They sowed the seeds of today’s blasphemy ordinances which are murderously abused against Christian minorities by any bigot who might covet your women or tiny hovel. No due process of law. It’s hang ‘em high. I can hear my heart racing and rage growing. Fear silences us from speaking out.
The proverbial knock at the door…
It’s the stuff of nightmares what children born into poverty endure. The west has no idea.
