You lost me when I registered your condescending tone towards we the uninformed people.
Not your most stellar essay Penguin!
I follow and read your work. I enjoy your insights.

At the risk of further being called a simpleton allow me my comment.

As I see it, Israel is a thriving affluent state. And I’m full of admiration. True grit. It has schools, colleges, universities, music academies and admirable kibitzes. It also has a superb army with state of the art weaponry. I also heard something about use of phosphorus but I probably misheard.

Gaza/Palestine? Two generations have grown up in ‘camps.’ They have hardly had clean drinking water whilst across the Wall I see jewel like blue swimming pools. Currently Palestinians have one liter a day per person or family. But that’s Hamas’s fault, I know. I hear you.
Gaza has what in the way of enlightenment? Building blocks cemented together by years of first class education? I’m sure your excellent research has unearthed the truth of it. Substandard academia. But that’s Palestinian Authority’s fault. Moving on to healthcare… suffice it to say, surely you’re familiar with the facts pertaining to the quality on both sides.
Sanctions and embargoes are immoral. Decades of them. Poor people suffer. We can all agree on that. Unless of course they’re for villainous Iran. Let them drink their oil. We’ll get to it eventually.
Good grief, Palestinians multiply like rabbits! Perhaps because kids are routinely picked off by Israeli snipers? Who can say. Why can’t they be bothered to learn English? I’d ask BBC to stop talking to them.
First world country, israel.
Third rate strip of a barren land, Gaza. Now without power, water, food. A ragged huddling population driven by Israel-induced fear from north to south and vice versa. Just do away with untermensch, is what I say.

Finish the job, Israel.

Yes, I’m angry. Satire is not my forte but hey, Anything goes. As I’ve seen in the case of Israeli unabated, shameless genocide.
