You Are My Sea. I Am The Waterfall
~ a love poem ~
Love and desire have no boundaries
love is pure soul.
You cannot divert the passion of a waterfall.
It must reach open seas to become eternal.
You are my sea. I am the waterfall
I must end in you or die trying.
You entered my blood like quicksilver
and lodged in my heart.
Now my heart is you.
If I could, I would keep you safe.
For myself.
Pull my heart out and I die…
Do you understand?
In the night, I weep.
Like a prophet
you wander in the desert my love
and for a bit I forget — war and death await.
I rage at the sky. I rage at humankind
I rage at myself for being helpless.
For you, I cry.
The impossible happened.
From mercury in my heart a flower grew.
How can I protect you?
I send my dreams to you,
some are moments frozen in time,
others, full of you healing the world wherever you go.
Be the breeze for hot foreheads,
the elixir which eases suffering.
Be strong, my wandering star
let your soul
which shines brighter than a thousand suns,
awaken sleeping canyons
where whispers turn to songs,
waters drawn from a dark cistern
become lifeblood itself
My beloved,
I see you everywhere.
You are all that is good in this world.
You my sweetest,
hold my soul even as you wander and suffer.
When I sleep I hold you tight
I’m protecting you.
