When We Fall

when we fall

run with me

into torturing visions

of death dancing terror before us

drift with me

over moonlit meadows of our broken dreams

over the ghosts we once longed to hold

gasp with me

at a beauty so stunning

that we can never even

hope to touch,

that haunts us

a ravishing phantom

in the dim tome of our memory

feel with me

the soft caress of

hopelessness

the despair of

everything that

veils us so like frailty,

to see our shattered selves

for who we truly

were.
