When nothing works, one resorts to acts of desperation.
Reason fails, empathy takes a hike, compassion becomes nonexistent, evil takes hold. The pen is no longer mightier than the sword. Murders become notches in the belt, pleas or appeals to Captains of ‘civilization’ fall on deaf ears and ossified hearts. Nothing rouses the corpse of wisdom.

That’s when we writers resort to satire.
