Books are genius, thought I think Herbert expropriated Arab culture and language in the interest of exotica — back when he wrote Dune books there was ignorance and fascination with the ‘other’ in usa — still, Herbert writes with erudition and lyricism.
The films are admirable.
You mock the characters and pretty much everything about Dune. You do the franchise a disservice in my opinion.
I’ve read copious fantasy and sci fi.
Dune characters and theme are one of the least ludicrous of them all.
