We need loud voices.

I was in the Netherlands recently. Apart from the natural glory of the region I was struck by a few things. Umair goes on and in about them. It was like being on another planet. People seemed happier, less stressed, very in tune with the environment. I saw enlightenment, acceptance and a minimal focus on consumerism which has been America’s undoing.

I don’t think bigotry and hate are something new to this age in america. They were just hiding under the skin and erupted like ugly ulcers with Trumps fomentation.

It’s very sad that I avoid going back to america. I no longer feel that I can belong. I am the ‘other.’

America is a police state. I’m grateful I have the choice to live in other places!
