Visions In A Sorcerer’s Garden

~ a meditation ~

photo public domain

I.

Sometimes I am the shadow of

A dragonfly, broken and sliced,

On ripples of a pond

And sky an inverted

Blue bowl.

II.

Sometimes I am a dark cedar

Frozen in a silk tapestry

Doomed to stillness,

Whilst the hunt tumbles

Deafeningly about.

III.

Sometimes I am the arrow

Loosened by a Moor

On a white steed,

To pierce a lion’s heart

And swallow its roar

As life ebbs away.

IV.

On a voluptuous nasturtium leaf,

Sometimes I am a dewdrop

Shed from the moist, starry eye

Of a munificent Mother

And the garden a sorcerer’s riddle.
