There was a renaissance of sorts in Christianity- thanks to Henry VIII!
Islam has not had one, and I doubt it ever will, though the Quran very clearly allows for a renaissance. Over the years Islam was a power tool. Religion always is. Now it’s in the hands of bigots and ignorant mullahs and dangerous politicians.

Institutionalized religion holds us in thrall.
