The problem is, society didn’t see it coming, not only boardrooms.

All of us in the west, so inured to consumerism, never thought for a moment the price of everything, from gas to potatoes would go up considerably.

Most of us have never been able to afford ostentation.

We know big brands exist, they are legend.
The only time I became the owner of an Hermés scarf was when my son, flush with early success, whisked me off to the boutique!

Most $$s sit with the top x percent. Luxury goods are for them, not us middle class Americans. I for one, am finding it hard to maintain a semblance of my erstwhile standard of living.
