Stalactites Rain Down

~ A poem for all of us ~

Image on Pixabay by buddy_nath

Put aside

Scarlet images

Step outside.

Sky is indigo satin

Moon a shy sequin

Constellations

Dipped in silver.

And give thanks.

Breathe deep

The dew.

Stalactites

Rain down —

Pierce tongue

Of fatigue

It is air

Forged

In crystal.

Give thanks

For

Birds safe

In warm nests

Unaware.

And

Trees

For once

At peace,

Knowing

Humankind

Is as fragile

As a lost

Butterfly’s

Wing.
