The thing for me is, being a Muslim I can make Muslim jokes or critique my own religion. I would never ever disrespect other religions or publicly make statements that would incite anyone to claim superiority over others. Religion does not preoccupy me, incidentally. however, islamophobia is very much my business. Hatred of the ‘other’ is wrong.

I find Dawkins to be arrogant and popish in his atheism. He can by all means hold forth on God and Christianity. I assume he was born into a Christian family. God is common to most religions, so that’s ok with me. It’s his choice to be an atheist.
