Rebecca you’re one of my favorite writers on Medium.
Thank you for your feedback!
It’s a genre which was absorbed into Spanish poetry when Arabs arrived in Spain.
Lorca I adore, his genius is unsurpassed in Spanish literature.
My inspiration is his work, when I read his Qasida I was blown away!
I’m from Pakistan and Urdu’s basis is Persian and Arabic. Qasida is used frequently.
Gaciela is ghazal in Urdu. Again, I was blown away by Lorca’s use of Gaciela!
Next poem will be a ghazal. Technically they should both be rhyming forms, which for me becomes awkward in English. You’d have to be a Browning, Byron or Shelley to pull it off!
