People of color are not biased. So you’re not! We are always apologizing for ourselves. Putting footnotes here, defensiveness there. I’m so done with it. My engagement with white Americans has always resulted in me leaving feeling diminished. I lived with being treated as an exotic collectible at white dinner tables for 30 years. No more. From famous academics to ambassadors who are rather feeble-minded if you ask me, with hardly any cultural sensitivity, or knowledge of geography I’ve found only shallowness and an addiction to grand lifestyles they can only enjoy in countries like pakistan. Took me a while to come into my own. I’m smarter than those people I met.

I cannot begin to imagine what black people have suffered over decades and continue to. White supremacy has deep roots. They go as far back as the genocide of indigenous peoples. Then on to slavery. And so it goes, changing hats as we chug along. But American imperialism is sooo over. Adios gringo!
