Im living through a trauma which has contorted my gut — women demonstrators dragged, slapped, humiliated publicly, literally thrown into vans and dumped in filthy jail cells.
Many have been brutalized and raped as a warning, tell your sisters this will happen to them if they don’t shut up. Many journalists have fled and some assassinated after being tortured. Some disappeared.
All because the powers that be refuse to hold a legitimate election. Last night internet was shut down. Official figures say eight thousand demonstrators are in jail, no one knows where.

It’s not a new story- South America comes to mind.
Why are human rights organizations silent? The west mute over such atrocities?
