Omar is one of my all-time favorites. Why? To my mind, he’s a perfect reflection of the cycle of poverty that forces us to turn to darkness. Human frailty. Vulnerability. His capacity for love of his partner. A very Shakespearean figure. And I love the actor!

It’s an affront to Omar to be compared to the likes of Donald Trump. Omar never had the privilege of choices, entitlement or riches.

I’m outraged by the comparison. The rest I agree with! Good essay.
