You’re right about it all happening too fast. We ARE numb. And terrified. This time the enemy is a completely new entity. Nothing seems to work. It’s like being invaded by aliens. We mourn and watch in horror the mounting deaths.

What doesn’t help is that gurus and media immediately turn deaths into stats and charts. It’s dehumanizing. Nameless. Faceless. It’s only numbers.

Those mass graves contain PEOPLE, for crying out loud. It seems we’ve all forgotten the horrors of nazi and Serbian mass graves. That was war you say? What’s this? It’s not war. It’s willful neglect on the part of authorities, namely Trump govt.

I shouldn’t have to remind social media and paper media to at the very least have a large headline EVERY DAY which is in memorium to the fallen. All the frontline workers and patients. Give them grace. That’s the least we can do.
