My pet peeve is that we were never taught urdu classics. It was all very colonial and our parents felt ashamed of Urdu! A vast body of magnificent urdu poetry etc was lost to us. No wonder we feel fragmented. We really don’t know who or what we are. It’s a serious issue worth writing about.
