Much as I concur with you Umair,
That decency is one of the highest virtues, let’s not glorify your village life too much!
The Darwinian process preceded Darwin in the sense that in the dark ages and much before that, there was always a hierarchy of power and trappings of wealth. Exploitation is nothing novel. It’s was and is rampant all over the globe. And who can forget the other Charles, Dickens who brought us the Artful Dodger and Fagin and a vast cast of exploiters and exploited?
Nightsoil collection and slaves sloshing urine to use as bleach for wool etc. western civilization is not built in decency. I could go back in time ad nauseum.
Decency runs contrary to human nature. More so now than ever. it’s not making a comeback any time soon. Not in America. Or capitalist societies. And we third worlders ape the worst of what the west has to offer.
