Ivy Leagues are all privately owned, aren’t they? It’s naive to think they can transcend capitalism to be inclusive and altruistic. Ivy leagues are for the network-worthy rich. Sure, they have their token scholarship minorities but generally speaking, they are full of white supremacists. I know that Asians are in the top tier academically speaking.

Two of my kids graduated from two different ivy leagues. I felt smug — wow, ivy leagues! Little did I know that both had been miserable throughout those years. Treated like the ‘Other’ by teachers and students alike. Didn’t tell us. Couldn’t throw cold water on parents’ expectations. Subcontinental parents are monstrous that way. Was the trauma worth their mental well-being? Absolutely not.
