It doesn’t cost that much to have a baby in usa!

My daughter had a baby without insurance. She negotiated with the hospital and they cut the cost by more than half. She paid out of pocket, in installments to boot.

Honestly, I was happily pleased. I didn’t expect the hospital to give her such a generous package which included EVERYTHING. from doctors visits, labs, delivery and post natal care. But that was seven years ago.

It’s the insurance companies that rip you off. I have top notch health insurance and it’s ludicrous how much minor visits cost. Minor surgery is a bomb. It’s a racket. Big pharma, AMA, insurance companies need some sort of oversight.

Some years ago I had Lyme Disease. It cost $20k just to get a diagnosis. Ultimately, I diagnosed it myself, thanks to the internet! Imagine the embarrassment of doctors when results from NIH came back positive. Doxycycline, which was given to me very reluctantly, saved my life.

Such is the state of healthcare. Utter ignorance. Whatever happened to the Hippocratic Oath!
