I do the washing jalebi thing too. A quick rinse so that crispness isn’t lost! I find them too sweet but love them. No diabetes though!
Birth is a daughter— I was born in my parents late life, I guess amma wasn’t menopausal. My paternal aunts were right there while amma was in throes of labor pains. Upon seeing me they burst into tears.
“Late in life! Our poor brother. And she’s so.. so.. BROWN!”
Well, not quite brown, a toasted gold I’d say. Ahem. I grew into a beautiful woman oohed and aahed over when I reached western shores. So there, aunties!
