In Urdu, my language, the word ‘Gherao’ means to encircle, corrall, monopolize.

That’s what Israel has done, is doing, and what fascists states do.

Curtail and control all accesses to what gives us life. They Gherao resources.

In the same way Gaza has been Gheraoed — cut off from resources and the outside world.

It’s a siege.
