In this searing heat, skyscrapers are cooled to the point of refrigeration. Across the globe. Malls. Cinemas. Homes too. Stadiums?

The other day, a wet bulb day, I went to watch Oppenheimer at a luxury cinema. I chose ‘platinum’ level where seats recline, food is served by waiters and - wait for this -
BLANKETS neatly folded on every seat. Outside temperature and humidity were unbelievable. Inside, I shivered under a blanket! And this in a developing country which has not developed at all for decades due to corruption, fascism and extremism. IMF fills begging bowls and pockets of etc etc.

Anarchy and chaos are coming. Desperate times… starve or kill.
Do you really think anyone in this country even thinks in terms of pyrocene and other cenes which will ensue? Or cares? Not a whit.
Mega rich party on as people collapse and die on footpaths. Americans call them sidewalks.
Yes, it’s obscene and unconscionable. Nothing will change. Mad consumption rules.

Just a glimpse into a world alien to the west.
