When Comes Love’s Memory…

~ a love poem for us ~

Mandragora in one hand

belladonna in the other,

the night waited…

I waited like the hush

inside a nautilus or arms

of a galaxy and upon me,

came love’s memory

like a prism or a spyglass

aimed at the firmament,

and disheveled ropes of

rag tag days became

quicksilver heat shivers

and I,

a renegade changeling,

was heartbeat

of a devotee’s dance in

the incarnadine swoop

of wings of the night.
