Omg! Those concrete grids with absurd names like the Boro or Mosaic which are meant to pass as hotbeds of social activity are an embarrassment. Silly restaurants with pretentious menus, awkward adolescent trees, pulled from nurseries by developers and stuck overnight around mixed-use buildings are abominations. Plenty of money floating around — dc is a rich area. And of course, no one greets each other or makes eye contact. Didn’t used to be like this when I moved here in the 80s.
