I find your comment reassuring -your neighbor has lost its mind! Completely. Cosmopolitan cities like DC are seeing rising bigotry which as you know is inherent to usa.

Apart from my one bad health incident which was traumatic, I always felt my heart sinking the moment we crossed the border from Canada into usa. It’s a dramatic palpable change — the air seems sad and coldly crapitalist. Ugly billboards the size of King Kong, wan fast food places and unfriendlies!

As for school shootings, I have no idea why Americans are immune to violence, even towards school kids. Guns need to go! Duh. Not rocket science. And perhaps more importantly, the root causes of school shootings which are clearly mental health issues, are simply not being researched. I should see a hundred articles and tv programs a month on this issue. I don’t see much at all!
Perhaps admitting crapitalism is the root cause of school shootings unnerves Americans. Serious soul searching required here.
