I have been a huge admirer of hers through her incredible journey. Many women feel empowered by her story which in the west, the story, elicits gasps and swoons. To sensationalize it is a disservice.

I don’t see why you the writer are so scandal-struck over her as we say, Saukan (second wife)
I assume you are of subcontinental origin and familiar with cultural nuances.
Islam allows for more than one wife. And is invoked in many cases.
At the end of the day, it’s all economics.
I’m from Pakistan and know of many instances where second marriages took place because the wife couldn’t bear offspring. In some cases it turned out post second marriage that the man was infertile!! Just an aside.
Western audiences are aghast at the first wife’s acceptance of a a second. This brand of ‘feminism’ is a misnomer and underthinks a complex set of circumstances… I’m going to stop now and write an article here on medium about it!!
