It was sheer adrenaline buildup to read your review of both Prometheus and Covenant.

Prometheus of course tops my list of cinematic perfection. The opening scene? I’ve yet to find another which so seamlessly synthesizes color pallete, cinematography, editing, CGI and invitation to crossover to mystery.

I agree — it’s a mystery to me why actors had to change accents. Idris as ruggedly noble Black American cowboy?! Really? He did a good job though.

Noomi is a fantastic actress. ‘Tattoo’ films come to mind. As dr. Shaw I loved her. Can’t believe Hollywood deemed it necessary to do an American version of tattoo!

After I watched Prometheus I ran out and bought a blue ray dvd. $25! It was a lot back in the day. And watched it numerous times. Blasting my music system.

I’m ashamed to say that recently I rented it on Prime, just for the music and opening scene.

Silence. Water. Life emerging. Whose hand guiding it? First day of creation in an Eden subsequently rendered desolate by life. I wanted it to last forever, the opening. Such brilliance!

I have to say— Noomi hammering her way into a Neolithic cave kinda broke the spell. But seeing the location with ancient peaks and valleys made me recover somewhat!

Covenant of course is the lesser of the two though by no means not devoid of philosophical content. I adore the leading actress.
Reference to Ozymandias, the two fassbenders, I prefer him blonde, Byron and Shelley repartee appealed greatly to me as a poet! To see oneself as a god creating worlds reminds me of colonialism mindset!
