Hi Aschi,
I’m ‘human, free and intelligent.’ That’s why I believe that genocide is immoral and unacceptable.
I was born into Islam, it’s in my blood. It’s not a basis for me to judge anyone for their formal belief system.
However, I can differentiate between someone who flouts rules which assure the well-being of others from someone who respects humanity and the credo, ‘do no harm.’ That’s pretty much universal don’t you think?
Does that have anything to do with my religion? No. All religions teach the same fundamentals. Monotheistic or polytheism.
We have inbuilt moral compasses. If they’re skewed we hurt others in many ways.
I don’t buy into any dogma or rhetoric because I’m human free and intelligent and proud to be a Muslim who recognizes that power corrupts priests mullahs etc and they put their own spin on religion to further their agendas. That’s where tenets get twisted. And I don’t subscribe to corrupted religion. Ritualistic practices can be a trap for believers.
Judaism, Christianity and Islam all come from the same root.
So yes, it’s distasteful to me if anyone at all insults religions. They are so much bigger than me.
That’s my position.
I wish you the best.
Be well. Be safe. 🙏🏽
