FIVE HUNDRED+!

~Words are not enough~

And I mean that.

Two hundred days…

There was fear. Doubt.

What if?

Expectant moments and hours

For

Invisible words to open like flowers

All I could dream up were cameos

And frescoes of faces, familiar and then

Not.

Names beautiful names, haunted me

Did I belong with them?

Or not.

Courage

Prescience

Perseverance

Kindness and wisdom

Fell one on top of the other

Like luminous and ignescent

jungle birds, silver fishes

Petals edged with gold.

My heart grew with them

Into a firm mountain of fire.

I met gazes soft like a wood pigeon chest,

Grazed against voices that thrilled.

Yours. All yours.

Heard arias I’d orchestrated

And didn’t even know it.

Words will never be enough.

I overflow with gratitude for

All that’s transpired

In two hundred days.

My 500+, accept a poet’s humble thanks

For your presence in my life.
