I completely agree. Its use shows biases exist in everyone. We must consciously fight the urge and make corrections.

The author strikes me as intelligent and insightful and I’m disappointed that he offered up a vague sentence as justification for the use of Karen, and a watered down apology. I admire your graciousness.

It IS used as a slur and that must stop.
