I believe that Israel has a collective sense of insecurity related to its very particular past. On the one hand, Israel was founded as a colonial enterprise and had to impose itself. Zionism espoused an ethnic nationalism that sought to create a homeland for a group that did not have one, in a land where people already lived. To make it happen, the demography had to change. Unconscionable. 
The west has no idea how Palestinians are humiliated and brutalized. 
Thank you for bringing horror of Israel to light.
