Back in the 90s when my son handed me Solaris, mom you’ll love Lem, I didn’t expect a writer with the sort of philosophical questions Lem lays out for us. His writing was very different from most western sci-fi writers. And I became enraptured.

The films didn’t do much for me. To be fair, most films fail to do justice to the books, Dune just might succeed, but a remake of Solaris would be worth considering.
